3D Printing Journey Timeline

Welcome to 3D Printing!
Purchased 1st Printer - The Prusa MK2S
Received as an unassembled kit, the build provided a greater insight into its mechanics which would later become invaluable during the frequent repair and maintenance works!
The MK2S won many awards including 3D Printer of the year by MAKE: Magazine

COVID ERA
Forced to stay and work at home i progressed initial 2D CAD skills developed as an Engineer into 3D draughting allowing for the design and creation of my own models.
Now able to draught in 3D i could also 'reverse engineer' damaged or broken items.
Aided by the printer i created and free-issued 50-off face shields to the A&E Department at Dr Grays Hospital in Elgin.
Continuing to familiarise with the machine and its associated software and printing readily available models from the likes of 'Thingiverse', printing got a lot easier with the MK2.5S upgrade kit.
The most notable feature was a removable print sheet. Gone are the days of scraping prints off the bed with a spatula, which often caused damage to the print bed or the printed item!

Lets build a shop!
April 21: I opened a small store on Etsy selling products globally as 'Daves3DPrintsUK.
An enjoyable side hustle i sold products from OZ to Austin Texas
To keep a catalogue of the items created to date i created an insta page, although not every item made would feature!
In late 2021 a 2nd printer arrived, the Prusa MK3S to supplement the old MK2.5S which was beginning to show its age

Steady progress with the Etsy sales and another new printer arrived: The Bambulab P1S with Automatic Material System (AMS) allowing for multi-colour printing.
Gone are the days of having to programme and manually perform filament change-outs for incorporating multiple colours within a print!
Sadly the old MK2.5s had died, worked into the ground over the 6 year period she could no longer be relied upon.

Going solo!
i decided to step away from Etsy and take an opportunity to progress further with my own website. Im excited to develop future products and collaborate with others.
Goodbye Daves3DPrintsUK
